A limitation with using privileges and roles to secure forms in N4 Mobile is that the administrator can hide the whole form but not individual fields on the form.
A workaround for this limitation is to define and upload variform definitions to override the default form layouts. In addition, you can edit the field names and supported flex fields in the variform definition.
To edit and upload a variforms definition:
Edit the XML file that contains the existing variform definition.
For instructions on how to edit the XML file, see Editing an XML file for N4 Mobile form configuration (on page 1).
In the Variform File Definition form (on page 1), upload the edited variform override for your facility.
In the Database Backed Variforms view (on page 1), select the Actions Reload All Variforms option to clear the cached variform definitions.
Ensure that the N4 Mobile form displays the changes made to the XML file.
For example, if you removed fields from a form definition, the N4 Mobile program must not display the removed fields anymore.
